The Education Programme

Our archives are packed with interesting stories and artefacts relating to what it was like to be at school during WWI. They are a unique source of material dealing with education in West Yorkshire during the period 1914-19.

FREE WWI EDUCATION SESSION FOR YOUR SCHOOL

We also seek to share this heritage with young people, particularly those aged between 10 and 25 from the Wakefield Area.

In support of this we are inviting local schools (both primary and secondary) to one of a number of school sessions. Each session will include the opportunity to see and touch artefacts from the period, and to look in depth at the stories of some of the local boys and girls who studied at the School, especially at what happened to them before, during and after the war.
